Seventh Grade Read Across Parke County

Riverton Parke Junior High School students participated in a reading challenge sponsored by the Parke County Public Library and the Friends of the Parke County Library. During the month of February, the seventh and eighth grade battled it out to see who could read the most pages. The seventh graders were victorious over the eighth graders reading 18,573 pages. The eighth graders read 15,486 pages, making a combined total of 34,059 pages read. The top reader for the eighth grade was Lillian Haughee who read 3,214 pages. The seventh grade top reader was Jeremy Wilkey who read 2,900 pages. The participating students were rewarded with a pizza party and snacks on Monday, March 11 courtesy of Friends of the Parke County Library. The top readers were also presented with a gift card.
