Riverton Parke Jr./Sr. High School had its first unified track and field meet yesterday. It was a collaborative effort among the student athletes, track and field coaches, staff, Student Council, and additional volunteers. The unified athletes competed alongside their peers on the varsity track team in the following events: long jump, shot put, 100 meter dash, and 200 meter dash. The unified track and field athletes who participated included: Couper Kersey, Kaleb Payton, Tucker Hopkins, and Carter Hopkins. The participants received ribbons for their accomplishments in each event. Many connections were made during this event and Riverton Parke looks forward to many similar competitions in the future.
