Carson Cox was recognized yesterday at the Indiana Association of School Principals awards banquet as a state level Indiana Academic All-Star. Cox was chosen from a pool of 281 Indiana nominees to receive this honor. From that pool, 90 seniors were selected to receive recognition, 50 qualified as regional recipients, and the top 40 were named state level Indiana Academic All-Stars. Selections were based on student grades, standardized test scores, and academic and community activities. Part of the application process for Cox was to write an essay about his most influential educator. Cox’s choice was Mr. Chalen Chambers, previous math and science teacher at Riverton Parke Jr./Sr. High School. All state recipients and their influential educators were invited to attend the awards ceremony held at the Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis.
