Riverton Parke High School’s Varsity Cheer Team attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) and Varsity Spirit summer camp at the Great Wolf Lodge, Mason, Ohio, in June. The theme of this year’s four-day UCA Summer Camp was “The Golden Era” The cheerleaders worked to build skills, confidence, routines, friendships, and memories. While in attendance, eight of Riverton Parke High School’s cheerleaders were named as UCA All-American cheerleaders. This was based on jumps, All-American cheer, and camp routine dance. When an athlete makes All-American, they are invited to perform at special events across the country. Those being named All-American were Kayli Hazzard, Kenzie Travis, Hadley Newman, Ainsley Stutler, Lyla Montgomery, Mary-Claire Featherling, Emily Adams, and Felicity Montgomery. Adams also earned a "Pin It Forward" award from the UCA instructors. “Pin It Forward” is one of the special duties of a staffer to recognize a camper for a quality that has made that cheerleader stand out, such as leadership and integrity. Ainsley Stutler and Hadley Newman were recruited to join UCA Camp Staff for next summer. The team earned third in Camp Routine, second in Band Chant, and first in Cheer.
