Twenty-seven Riverton Parke agriculture students traveled to Terre Haute on Friday, September 27 to participate in the 2024 Ivy Tech COB and COG - Agriculture and Engineering Challenge. This is an annual event presented by Duke Energy for students in West Central Indiana to compete in over twenty different agriculture science and engineering contests. Riverton Parke had students compete in a wide variety of contests including Soil Judging, Balloon Powered Car Race, Livestock Management and Judging, Precision Agriculture, Quiz Bowl, Drones, and more. Riverton Parke had three teams place second overall in the contests. Those included Balloon Powered Car Race with team members Kirklee Mullican, Colton Trapman, and Tanner Allen, Livestock Management with team members Molly McCammon, Lillian Braun, and Kenzie Travis, and Soil Judging with team members Lane Cottrell, Mitchell Stepp, and Cash Anstett. Agriculture teachers, Micah Humphreys and Michaela Woods, coordinated and attended the trip with the students.
