Students Granted Valuable “Seat Time” Experience

Students in Riverton Parke Jr./Sr. High School’s Heavy Equipment Operations vocational class have been able to achieve some valuable "seat time" experience thanks to the generosity of West Side Tractor of Terre Haute. West Side Tractor has graciously loaned equipment for RPHS students to learn on. The students are working to create a "dirt lab" that will be utilized for instruction and training on a variety of heavy equipment. RP appreciates numerous volunteers and organizations for their assistance in creating this valuable outdoor classroom space. This class is very dependent on the support of our community, and we truly appreciate the investment into our new vocational program. Special thanks also to MacAllister Machinery and Collom Excavating, LLC for the use of equipment. This new program is part of the WRCTE (Wabash River Career Technical Education) program taught by Brody Cobb under the direction of the WRCTE director, Craig Newby.
