Riverton Parke FFA came home with the traveling trophy on Friday, October 11th for the Annual Food Drive competition between Riverton Parke FFA and Parke Heritage FFA sponsored by Parke County REMC. For the past couple of years, REMC has sponsored a food drive competition between the schools to collect needed food and hygiene items for all the local food pantries in the county. Riverton Parke FFA collected almost $1,000 in cash and over 400 canned food or hygiene items. In total, twelve large totes/boxes of items were divided amongst the food pantries in the county. The monetary donations will be divided equally as well. The traveling trophy is a new addition to the competition this year and was presented to the FFA chapter during half time of the Riverton Parke versus Parke Heritage varsity football game that evening.
