Students Learning Valuable Skills in Their Community
Riverton Parke’s Applied Careers and Exploration class traveled to the Red Raccoon and Rusted Root on a field trip last week. The students have been organizing Riverton’s clothes closet and Santa store for the past few weeks. They were able to help the Red Raccoon with sizing, organizing, and folding jeans. On their second stop of the day, they learned all about making candles and the little details owners do to promote their businesses at the Rusted Root.
This week, the students put their inventory skills to the test as they traveled to Save-A-Lot. The students helped pull boxes and organize food on the shelves. Before heading back to Riverton, the students stopped by Covered Bridge Coffee to learn about the skills needed to work at a coffee shop. The students were very interested in watching their orders be made and, most importantly, tasting them! Thank you to all the businesses that have been involved. This is a great opportunity for our students.
Keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming fundraising event sponsored by Covered Bridge Coffee Company!
