Successful Career Exploration

Several Riverton Parke High School students that participate in the

Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Program through CARS have ventured to local businesses lately. Nathan Woodard, Pre-Employment Career Manager, coordinated the field experiences. The Pre-ETS program is designed for students to receive meaningful career and/or education planning coaching. Job exploration, work-based learning, career counseling, workplace readiness, and self-advocacy are key components of the program. Ayshia Oldham and Della Oldham traveled to the Parke-Vermillion Humane Society. They were able to bathe the dogs, prepare their treats, and exercise the animals. Devin Harrison went to Disc Replay to see employment opportunities. Kaleb Payton and Tyler Nelson explored Carbon Heating and Air Conditioning.
