Southwest Parke Community Schools

Riverton Parke High School’s Academic Super Bowl teams participated in the Area Academic Super Bowl competition held at Greencastle High School on Tuesday, April 22. This year’s theme was “Ireland.” Riverton Parke had 14 students who studied material about Ireland that correlated with their chosen discipline. Five teams competed in the disciplines of fine arts, social studies, math, English, and science. In the Class 4 senior division: the social studies team coached by Cassidy Bagby placed 2nd, and the science team coached by Leigh Ann Lawson placed 3rd. The math team coached by Nick Kent finished in a three-way tie for 2nd. The English team coached by Claudia Overpeck placed 4th. The fine arts team was coached by Holly Swick. RP staff members are proud of the extra time and dedication the students put in each year to challenge themselves and increase their knowledge about worldly topics. The competition is sponsored by the Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP). Candice Burnett is the high school Academic Coordinator.
