The Riverton Parke Agriculture Department has been selected as a recipient of a $25,000 America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education grant. This grant was made possible by local farmers and America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Bayer Fund. The agriculture teachers, Michaela Woods and Micah Humphreys, are both very excited and honored for the agriculture department to be selected for this grant. The grant will go towards greenhouse updates that will provide students with many new opportunities relating to horticulture and plant science. A check celebration will take place at one of the home football games this fall. More information will be released about the celebration at a later date. The America’s Farmers campaign highlights the importance of modern U.S. Agriculture through communications and community outreach programs that partner with farmers to impact rural America.
