Riverton Parke Senior, Autumn Nichols, was recently named a First Generation Hope Scholar by The Salvation Army, Indiana Division. Nichols received the Donald Miller Scholarship for $1,000. This scholarship was established to recognize a student who is on track to be the first in their family to successfully complete a post-secondary education. After a virtual interview with a panel of six judges, she was chosen because of her strong motivation to achieve and evidence of good citizenship despite a history of adversity. Recipients of these scholarships are the first in their families to attend college.
She is planning to study Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University or Indiana State University. She's a 2nd year Auto Technology student with WRCTE.
