Members of the Riverton Parke FFA Chapter competed in the District VII Leadership Development Events (LDEs) on Friday, March 7th held at Bloomfield High School. LDEs consist of many different public speaking events to showcase and promote an FFA member's leadership skills. In total, Riverton Parke FFA competed in twelve different contests. Earning first place honors included Aubrey Adams in Discovery Extemporaneous Public Speaking and Jaydon Shaffer and Maggie Virostko with their Horticulture Demonstration. These individuals will compete in the state competition which is held during the Indiana FFA State Convention in June. Earning second place honors included: Colton Suggs and Izzy Suggs with their Agriculture Mechanics Demonstration, Emily Adams and Hadley Newman with their Plant and Soil Science Demonstration, and Katilynn Koch in Extemporaneous Public Speaking. Earning third place honors included: Tulie Boyle and Jayda Buza with their Food Science Demonstration, Joel Harrah and Emma Ugoletti with their Agriculture Farm and Business Demonstration, and Kora Humphreys and Jasper Hartman with their Discovery Food Science Demonstration. Other members who competed included: Mya Kenley and Jenna Virostko with their Animal Science Demonstration, Cash Anstett and Mitchell Stepp with their Natural Resources Demonstration, Brogan Griffin and Abbi Little with their Discovery Plant and Soil Science Demonstration, and Dawn Koester in Prepared Public Speaking. The Riverton Parke FFA advisors, Micah Humphreys and Michaela Woods, helped prepare the members for the District VII LDE Contest.
