Riverton Parke Jr.-Sr. High School received an Operation Round Up Grant from Parke County REMC customers. Each member of the electric cooperative can choose to “round up” their monthly electric bill to be donated to local organizations each quarter. Riverton Parke Jr.-Sr. High school was chosen as a recipient in January 2025 and received $1,134.28 to purchase two new storage cabinets, castors and storage totes with lids to organize their clothing closet. The goal of this project is to make the clothing closet more efficient, secure, and remove items from occupying an instructional space. The Applied Careers and Exploration class at Riverton Parke will be in charge of sorting, folding, and organizing these cabinets to make the clothing and other items more accessible to students and reduce the amount of time required to find and retrieve requested items. Throughout the last decade, teachers at Riverton Parke have partnered with community members and organizations to provide clothes, school supplies, and personal hygiene products to students in need. Principal Kyle Kersey expressed gratitude, stating, "We appreciate the ongoing support from Parke County REMC and its members for our students and those in neighboring schools. We are truly fortunate to collaborate with such an outstanding organization."
