A group gathered in front of the office at Riverton Parke Jr.-Sr. High School today to officially notify Charlie Belcher of his selection for Franklin College’s Presidential Scholarship. This scholarship totals $40,000 ($10,000 annually for four years). Belcher participated in on-campus interviews at the invitation-only Ben Franklin Scholars Day program to compete for this award. Scholars were required to be admitted to Franklin College and have a current GPA of at least 3.9 on a 4.0 scale to be invited. Recipients were chosen based on their academic and personal achievements. This award is in addition to the $92,000 ($23,000 annually for four years) Academic Scholarship Belcher was awarded upon admission, totalling $132,000. Belcher is the salutatorian of the class of 2025. He plans to attend Franklin College and major in finance.
